Cocteau Twins - Lullabies to Violaine: Singles and Extended Plays 1982-1996 (2006)

As an astute reader may have deduced from the title, this 4-disc box set compiles every Cocteau Twins single and EP released over the course of their career, following them from their dark, goth rock origins to the polished, accessible dream pop that they closed with. It's all non-album material, and for the most part, it holds up well against their best material (two notable exceptions are their versions of "Winter Wonderland" and "Frosty the Snowman.") Still, any fan of the band and/or the subgenre will find a whole lot to love here.
