When - The Black Death (1992)
When is the long-running project of Lars Pedersen, a Norwegian experimental musician. Difficult and unnerving, The Black Death is a sample-heavy, industrial sound-parade of screams, sinister voices, cawing crows, lashing whips, Norwegian folk music, dissonant strings, twinkling keyboards, etc etc etc.
No need for a track listing - it's a single 38-minute long composition.
"To drop the flesh off of the frame
The earth and worms both have a claim."

ReplyDeleteThis isn't what I expected at all!
ReplyDeleteIt actually sounds like Warner Brothers cartoons -
maybe "Porky and Daffy Go to the Devil!"?
Perhaps intentionally funny?
Or not, I like it anyway.
Thanks!
