Cult Australian depressive black metal. Draining, droning songs that slowly march towards the inevitable end through extremely murky and blown-out sound. I like how it's not just
Reflections of a Failed Existence. Nah son, the reflections
themselves are futile. Most people -- probably you, as it seems that my most popular posts deal with
ECM or
new age -- will find nothing remotely appealing about this.
Track listing:
1. False Satisfaction Springs from Empty Achievement
2. Days of Death
3. Twilight Hours Offer Little Solace
4. Futile Reflections of a Failed Existence
My goats are all corpses
Au contraire - what drew me to this blog in the first place was how mind-bogglingly eclectic your posts are! Everyone should make time for metal, especially people like me whose home turf is considerably mellower. If you've got any sunn o))), that would be especially welcome.
ReplyDeleteI have pretty much all of the Sunn O))). Any specific requests? Do you have "Dømkirke"?
DeleteI just have the Blacks & Whites, plus last year's collab with the Great God Scott. Dømkirke would be great - just whenever you've got the time.
DeleteMonoliths & Dimensions is a good Sunn O))) album too. Plus it has a tribute track to Alice Coltrane which is a good thing in my book.
DeleteEven though I like your EMC and new age post (I've been really getting burnt out on both of those the past couple of years), I enjoy your black metal post more!!! Post whatever you like though, you have one of the few blogs that I love and respect!!! -Britt
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it, y'all. I mean, I'm gonna listen to and post about black/other metal regardless of response, but it's good to know that someone's digging it!
