Evocative piano- and synth-based music for a horror movie that I've never seen. Love how ambient sound clips from the movies are utilized to create an immersive, narrative listen.
Track listing:
1. Full Circle (Main Theme) / The Park
2. Have You Got a Magnificent Problem? (Inside the Mental Home)
3. 'Pretty Men Are Very Receptive' (The Seance)
4. Kate (Opening Sequence)

8. Full Circle (Everything's Right Now)
The haunting of Julia

Fabio Frizzi - The Beyond (1981) |
Walter Rizzati - Quella Villa Accanto al Cimitero (1981) |
One of my all-time favourite horror flicks, no joke.
ReplyDeleteI love horror films that are 100% serious and also have a sadness about them - it's hard to find a horror film that's also sad, but this one really fits the bill.
Sadly it never had a legit Region 1 DVD release (it was released on VHS in the 1980s and that was it), I keep hoping that Guillermo Del Toro (or somebody else who treasures vintage genre flicks) will save it and re-issue it.
As for the soundtrack - 100 fucking GOLD. Tinges of Tangerine Dream, amazing theme callbacks throughout the album. I needed a good copy of this - thanks!
:D
I couldn't agree with you more on all points.
DeleteStrange as it may seem from listening to this, but Colin Towns went on to play with Gillan, led by the former Deep Purple singer.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a life saver!! The tracks were recently removed from Youtube due to copyright infringement and I couldn't find it anywhere. Thank you
