Smooth-ass jazz-funk courtesy of American-Latin flautist Dave Valentin. One copy of this LP almost ended up sitting in a 100-count box in a dusty warehouse, surrounded by others like it, perhaps never to see the light of day again. But thanks to my sharp eye and quick actions, it's spinning on my turntable as I type this. That synth-bass breakdown in "Astro-March" = the sound of God speaking directly to us, assuring us that we are his most prized invention.
Track listing:
1. Sidra's Dream
2. Astro-March
3. Open Your Eyes
4. Fantasty
5. Land of the Third Eye
6. The Tellers
7. Pana Fuerte
I've got to hear it from you
You should also hear:
Paul Horn - Dream Machine (1978) |
Bennie Maupin - Moonscapes (1978) |
It is enjoyment! Of almost superfluous dimension! The wearing of the sateen flare adjusts to the cocktail disco ambience!
ReplyDeleteI am indebted to you for this. The black metal, not so much. But bless you for it anyway.
Your eye is sharp, your actions are quick, but the link keeps saying "500 Internal Server Error", and also "nginx".
ReplyDeleteNice one spirit....IMHO the best of his albums. All winner no filler
ReplyDeleteThank you. You're a star. Now, where the hell's my sequined boob tube?
