Well, I was hoping to have my year-end black metal list done by tonight, but it's not gonna happen. Still hemming and hawing, still writing. In the meantime, here's number 20 from last year's list to hold you over, along with the blurb from said list so that I really don't have to do shit.
"Shrouded in mystery (and tape hiss) with a loose, exploratory feel that may or may not be intentional. Sorrowful, melodic, tremolo-picked guitars and clattering drums that always seem to be going at slightly different speeds, but then hit every change together. It's almost jazz-like. Whether intentional or not, the effect is one of barely controlled chaos, and it makes for a goddamn compelling listen."

I own a few tapes from Black Gangrene productions, and I have to say it's one of the most exciting undergound BM label. Never disappointed by their catalogue.
