German depressive black metal. The sound is raw but big, the guitars are beautiful but slightly out of tune, the vocals sound like lost ghosts, the keyboards are eery and pretty -- everything in its right place. One of those bands who doesn't do anything particularly innovative with a style, but they just do it so well, it feels weirdly fresh.

I have the cassette put out by Wintermond Vertrieb and it's weird because I don't associate Wedard with NS but the label logo has two sunwheels on either side.
ReplyDeleteYeah, as far as I know Wedard aren't an NS band; of course, I don't speak German so who knows what their lyrics are about, but all evidence suggests they're just singing about being sad in the woods or whatever. Label put out four releases, can't see anything explicitly NS but one of them in particular (https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Urus/United/685586) gives off sketch vibes. Possibly some genuine Heathen/Pagan stuff, possibly edgelord stuff, who knows. Either way, I've made exceptions for worse. Thanks for the heads-up.
