An album of darkly alluring, hypnotic, Americana-infused dream pop. Yes, it is produced by David Lynch, whose haunted compositions always sound better when fronted by tragic, emotive chanteuses (see also:
"Pinky's Dream",
"I'm Waiting Here",
Julee Cruise's first two records). Really stoked on this one, can't believe it took me so long to hear about it!

ReplyDeleteHer EP Somewhere in the Nowhere (also produced by David Lynch) is probably my favorite thing she's put out. Her self-titled EP is pretty great, too, but it's definitely a step towards wider accessibility. Here are those EPs:

A bit saloooow I am on such things here in the 808 State. Just discovered s03 of Twin Peaks -- and the presence of Christa Bell. Finally, Lynch delivers the Bobless fire's heat. The vid for Beat the Beat may be the his greatest achievement. No finer inspiration than this chanteuse to get him there.
