Glimmering new age bliss from American violinist/composer/multi-instrumentalist Steve Kindler. Synths, layered violins, guitars, autoharp, and various forms of percussion form a warm, bright sound that occasionally approaches fusion.

I love this record. I bought it a couple years ago at a local record store, just on a whim, knowing nothing about it. I listened to it over and over, then I filed it away and can't find it anywhere. Don't know what's going on with that. It must be around somewhere. My roommate hates shit like this so there's no foul play involved. A true mystery.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the SK
ReplyDeleteThat's a very cool album cover.
ReplyDeleteBelated thanks and recognition for posting strong new age stuff. New age gets a bad rap for the angels-and-fairy-dust leanings of a large percentage of adherents more than for the music itself. Which is often deftly expressive, as here.
ReplyDeleteThat said, smooth jazz does indeed deserve its bad rap. Both for the chardonnay-and-vegetable-crackers leanings of its adherents and for the wretched vacuousness of the music itself. And the laughable wardrobes of its practitioners. That shit sucks donkey dicks in the back seats of abandoned cars in the backstreets of Cuernavaca.
