Tropic of Cancer - The Sorrow of Two Blooms (2011) + I Feel Nothing (2012)

Two EPS of mesmerizing, atmospheric darkwave from LA artist Camella Lobo. Gauzy synths play two-chord progressions and minimal melodies over simple drum machine patterns while Lobo's voice drifts above it all as an ominous yet angelic, ghost-like presence. The Sorrow of Two Blooms is rooted in a kind of narcotized post-punk, while I Feel Nothing drifts further into ethereality.
