Unsettling modern classical from Greek-French composer Iannis Xenakis. From creeping pizzicato flurries to shrieking walls of dissonance, these anxious, cacophonous pieces wouldn't sound at all out of place soundtracking an artfully-made slasher flick.

Xenakis' brother Jason wrote a book entitled "Hippies and Cynics". One my favourite quotes out of this wonderful book: "If we must be addicted to oxygen and water, why not be addicted to narcotics, too?"
ReplyDeleteJason promoted suicide as a way out..I know cause I lived in Greece from 1976 to 80 and leonidis xristakis apprised me of this very interesting man.as I could gather he and his wife tried to commit suicide by driving off a cliff in which she died but he survived. He had claimed that it was honorable in the ancient culture to actually decide to put an end to one's life..another interesting point is that in those days of yore if found guilty of stealing one was penalized not for stealing but being so stupid to have been caught.
ReplyDeleteNone the less Jason did finally put an end to his life.
My book by him I have in Greek and it has been with me for all these years.

ReplyDeleteNo password necessary, not sure what you're talking about. Sounds like maybe some Zippyshare scam bullshit. I hope to eventually move all of my links to Mega but haven't gotten around to it yet because Zippyshare became very very fucky over the past couple of years. I'll make a new link tomorrow.
Deleteflac format on mega would be superb for future rips.
