Heaven-sent Japanese ambient synth pop. Understated, deceptively complex, and way ahead of its time. Little bits here and there remind me of some of the greats, but Dip in the Pool never really sound like anyone but themselves. 10/10.
Track listing:
1. Rabo del sol
2. Facing the Sea
3. はすのえにし
4. Sur le pois
5. Silence
6. ひなまり

ReplyDeleteDEAR_SPIRIT, this album cover is so very familiar, & it's also getting me a bit emotional; I'm trying to figure out why this is. Do you know if there's any story behind this photo, is there a separate original source? Otherwise I've simply owned this album I will guess, & covid continues to strip away the last bits of my mental health & cognition. Cheers
ReplyDeleteThis album is a compilation of two EP's, with a few track alterations and play order

Hope this helps!!
To supplement my previous comment about the album being a comp, the vocalist Miyako Koda also is a model and actress, and it is her on the cover. There exists a few alternate covers as well, seen on discogs. In japan the album was released as Dip In The Pool, which is also the name of an earlier EP.
ReplyDeleteany idea where can i get the rest of their discography?
