Double Fantasy - Universal Ave (1987)

Hypnotic Berlin-school magic from a duo consisting of German musicians Robert Schröder and Charly McLion. Motorik beats, fuzzy guitars, and lush, weightless synths. It seems that their relationship grew contentious, as they ended up in a legal battle over the band name, but thankfully they managed to record this slice of heaven beforehand.

Track listing:
1. Heartbreaker
2. Universal Ave
3. Endless Running
4. Food for Fantasy
5. Lost Control
6. Children of the Universe
7. Strangers in Space

Robert Schröder - Harmonic Ascendant (1979)

Previously on OPIUM HUM:
Robert Schröder - Brain Voyager (1985)

Robert Schröder's first album, and certainly one of his best, Harmonic Ascendant features three haunting, trance-inducing, synth-based compositions colored at times by a bit of piano, cello, guitar, and vocoder. Produced by some dude named Klaus Schulze.

Track listing:
1. Harmonic Ascendant
2. Future Passing By
3. The Day After X

Robert Schröder - Brain Voyager (1985)

Some Berlin school nerdery for y'all. 95% synths, with a bit of acoustic guitar here and there, as well as some haunting vocals on one track. Apparently, Brain Voyager is the soundtrack to some unGoogleable movie called Glücksgedanken. I'm hella high on legal weed, there's a cat in my lap, and I'm rocking some choice space music, which is to say: sometimes, life is good.

Track listing:
1. Brain Voyager
2. Lost Humanity
3. Frozen Breath of Life
4. Invisible Danger
5. Glücksgedanken
6. Love Symphony
7. Slaves of Civilization
8. The Inside of Feeling
