Vernon Reid, Elliot Sharp, & David Torn - GTR OBLQ (1998)

Atmospheric but hard-hitting fusion/prog from four insanely talented musicians. Pretty much anything David Torn touches turns to gold, and this is no exception, even though it's definitely ponytail-core.

Track listing:
1. Cerulean Sea
2. Original Sin
3. Etude Revisited
4. A Palace of Pearls (On a Blade of Grass)
5. Fin de Siecle
6. DrumBass
7. Cracking the Midnight Glass
8. Torn DrumBass
9. Thick with Thin Air
10. Cobalt Canyons
11. Deeper Blue
12. Presidents Day

And, well, I found no bottom

Bill Bruford - One of a Kind (1979)

Synth-heavy instrumental jazz fusion led by founding Yes drummer Bill Bruford. Lighthearted and noodle-y in a way that almost borders on lite-jazz, but cerebral and nerdy enough to avoid such pitfalls.

1. Hell's Bells
2. One of a Kind (Part I)
3. One of a Kind (Part II)
4. Travels with Myself - and Someone Else
5. Fainting in Coils
6. Five G
7. The Abingdon Chasp
8. Forever Until Sunday
9. The Sahara of Snow (Part I)
10. The Sahara of Snow (Part II)

And you and I
