Chris & Cosey - Technø Primitiv (1985)

Two former members of Throbbing Gristle making dark, synth-based 80s dance music. Drenched in reverb, Cosey (Fanni Tutti)'s vocals sound hauntingly disconnected over the duo's pulsing, atmospheric instrumentals.

Track listing:
1. Hazey Daze
2. Misunderstandings
3. Morning
4. Haunted Heroes
5. Stolen Kisses
6. Shivers
7. He's an Arabian
8. Last Exit
9. Do or Die
10. Technø Primitiv
11. Silent Cry
12. Sweet Surprise

I hope you will be by my side

  1. Personally I never liked/enjoyed Throbbing Gristle( their music was like listening to decomposing meat with a stethoscope) from where these two came from but the duo project is fantastic. I love the interplay of technology(of that day) and her sinuous vocals. Thanks for posting this gem.

    1. Haha, that's actually a pretty good description of Throbbing Gristle -- that's why I like it! Definitely not for everyone, though.

  2. I enjoy both Throbbing Gristle and Chris & Cosey but with most of my collection on LP and no turntable I look forward to hearing this again. BTW, the above comment is the best description of Throbbing Gristle's music I've ever come across! I know that sound! Many thanks.

  3. Having trouble extracting this file. What do you suggest? I use filzip, which works fine for most of my music files. This album easily in top 10 of New Wave records ever, a classic early electronic treat! Thanks, and like your site!! Hopefully, I can open this file and hear this agaain! Cresh
