Deranged - High on Blood (1998)

Swedish brutal death metal. The musicianship is topnotch but not overly tech-y, the drums are NOT triggered (which makes their precision all the more impressive), and I swear, these are some of the best goddamn DM riffs I've ever heard -- just the right combination of groove, dissonance, and pinch harmonics. If you're a Cannibal Corpse fan and haven't heard this, rejoice. Highly under-appreciated record, right here.
