Hella tight, far-out psych/fusion. I don't really understand the deal with author (and noted non-musician) Yasutaka Tsutsui being credited with writing the "script" for the album, as it's all instrumental. Maybe it's the score for one of his plays? But I do know that it makes me feel like I'm floating around in outer space doing blow with aliens and dodging meteors.

In the mirror land
Keep on floating:
George Russell - Electronic Sonata for Souls Loved by Nature (1969) |
Annette Peacock & Paul Bley - Dual Unity (1972) |
Seems to be a concept album inspired by one of Tsutsui's (many, many) sci-fi short stories – the text of the story is on the original Japanese insert. Great share.
ReplyDeleteA fan-fucking-tastic recommendation. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHighly essential Japanjazz; lives up to the mystery -- test of time and all that. Get it.
ReplyDeleteThank you
ReplyDeleteThis was really cool! It really picked up in the mid-30s, and I was not ready for that abrupt ending at what I can only assume is 39.
ReplyDeleteAlso Spracht Zarathustra from Richard Strauss is a programatic music piece, when it's inspired by literature or argument (concept), so it needs an author. At this epoch Mahler was the opposite. I like the music, simple as that, don't you, why we need words?
ReplyDeletehi
ReplyDeletebe grateful if you could re- up.
