Dark Sea Dream - Dark Sea Dream (2010)

Beautifully heavy, densely layered US post-metal with an energizing, visceral impact. A wall of sound made up of thunderous drums, guitars -- riffs, leads, and feedback all blending into one -- organ, and I believe some kind of noise source, with ethereal, shoegaze-esque vocals occasionally shining through the murk. Free download via bandcamp.

Track listing:
1. "Not 'Til You Pull That Trigger, Boy"
2. Behind the Eyes
3. Shock Doctrine

  1. Hey D_S

I recently (re)discovered an album that I haven't played in years that is an absolute MASTERPIECE - I wanted to make sure you know about it (I'm gonna guess that you own it and love it..) It's by the composer and musician Forrest Fang, specifically his 1989 "The Wolf At The Ruins" album.

It's an insanely good mix of ambient, experimental, "world" (non-Western instruments such as gamelan, Chinese hammered dulcimer etc..) with tape delay techniques and other electronic applications.

Sure you know it, but since it blew my mind I felt compelled to check ;)
