Lil' Troy - Sittin' Fat Down South (1999)

Houston gangsta rap. It's never been entirely clear why Sittin' Fat Down South was released as a Lil' Troy solo album -- he's on less than half of the tracks -- as it's really more of a showcase for producer Bruce "Grim" Rhodes. Maybe he's the one who got everyone else to show up? Regardless, it's a beast of an album.

1. Lock N da Game

3. Ain't No Luv

  1. Yep this is a total banger. The cover photo while typical is still funny to me (S600 w huge chrome wheels, diamond lettering, $$$ etc. ohh the materialism). I forget what track it was but the great De La Soul had video years ago where in one scene they were cruising in (I think) a huge Mercedes or BMW and it said "rented car" above them as they drove - perfect :)

  3. found this (and your blog) after realizing i had ripped the censored version of "wanna be a baller" off youtube... bless up

recent wanna be a baller kick got started off by finding out the beat is a replayed sample of "little red corvette" by prince #realheadsonly
