Otherworldly score for a masterclass of tension and atmosphere. Following a stately, sorrowful opening theme, dissonant, droning strings slowly build to terrifying peaks, with clattering percussion and wordless choral vocals. I fucking loved this movie, and it's on Netflix so if you haven't seen it yet, 'tis the season. Also, notice that his last name is almost "Coven" -- obviously, it was meant to be.

ReplyDeleteExcellent movie, equally excellent soundtrack. I just recently downloaded the album Excavation by The Haxan Cloak due to the use of the song Miste at the end of a poignant episode of Castle Rock. Are you familiar?
ReplyDeleteWith Haxan Cloak? Hell yes. Have never seen Castle Rock tho.
DeleteFantastic, Haxan was to whom I was referring. Any related artists/albums that you recommend? I simply can't stop listening to this..
DeleteCastle Rock is somewhat entertaining, definitely up there for a King story. If you liked this film, I'd recommend Hereditary. Another stellar psychological horror movie pertaining to the occult.
Saw this movie about a week ago and it's perfect! The soundtrack, the lighting, the clothing, the pacing, the dialog . . . just perfect. And to top it all off I discovered Comus, First Utterance about an hour earlier. Days don't get much better than that. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteUh oh, zippyshare, can you update? Thanks.
