Zoe Keating - One Cello x 16: Natoma (2005)

Cellist Zoe Keating's debut solo album. As you might have surmised from the title, this album consists entirely of layer up on layer of cello. Keating treats her instrument as a melodic, rhythmic, percussive, and atmospheric tool, and, far from the restrained, sparse sounds one might expect from an all-cello album, Natoma is driving, inspired, and powerful.

Track listing:
1. Legions (War)
2. Fern
3. Tetrishead
4. Sun Will Set
5. We Insist
6. Legions (Reverie)
7. Frozen Angels
8. Legions (Aftermath)

Hello night

  1. Anyone digging this would be wise to check out Helen Money, a solo cellist from Chicago. Fab post, thank you.
