Mistress of the Dead - Buried (2006)

Previously:
Mistress of the Dead - I Know Her Face from the Tombstone (2006)

Sparse, draining, ugly, perfect funeral doom. How Mistress of the Dead isn't one of the biggest names in the subgenre is beyond me.

Track listing:
1. Buried
2. Cinerary Rain
3. Vortex

Grey light of creatures
Sentenced to infernal anguish
It's pulling me down so strong
Tossed in spiral nothingness

  1. Hi Dear Spirit, You have an amazing blog and it' s magickal. One never knows what hidden gem you may pull out of the void on any given day. Regarding "Mistress of the Dead": Your blog turned me onto Vlad Cristea Vales' howls from the deep with your posting of "I Know Her Face from the Tombstone". Incredible and haunted album. I ended up searching for almost every "Mistress..." album I could find. There seems to be a dearth of information about this awesome Czech Republic Doomster. Do you have any info or websites that you know of? There seems to be nothing on him in fazebook or myspace...Just an added comment. I agree with your statement above about Mr. Vales' lack of recognition for his art. I love how he has pushed the genre into an absolutely new frontier--Sui generis. His raspings and howlings of despair become animal-like at times, genuinely frightening...
    Peace Brother, zogaddams

    1. So glad to hear from someone who holds this project in as high regard as I do. Unfortunately, I have virtually no knowledge of this project outside of what I've already mentioned- the blog that I linked in the post about I Know Her Face... is how I found Mistress of the Dead. If you find anything let me know!

  2. I've been listening to this band for years, glad others appreciate his work as well. This and White Roses, White Coffin are masterpieces.
