Got a request for more Badgerlore, so here's their final full-length. At this point, the former duo had ballooned to a six-member quasi-supergroup encompassing the original two plus Liz Harris of Grouper, Tom Carter of Charalambides, and more. All things considered, We Are All Hopeful Farmers... really isn't all that different from the Badgerlore that had come before -- skeletal guitar figures, shimmering drones, and a spectral vocal here and there -- but it does feel like the most fully realized version of the project's vision.

Still my favorite Six Organs record. A deeply meditative sequence of sparse, deftly picked pieces for solo acoustic guitar, with little-to-no accoutrements.

Abstract, drugged-out, extremely deconstructed psych-folk from a duo consisting of Ben Chasny (Six Organs of Admittance, Comets on Fire) and Rob Fisk (Common Eider, King Eider.) Quite similar to the great Charalambides, a member of whom, along with Liz Harris (Grouper) would eventually join Badgerlore. Pretty much only makes sense late at night, and under the influence of psychedelics or sedatives.

RTZ is a collection of early Six Organs of Admittance (aka multi-instrumentalist Ben Chasney)'s 4-track recordings, culled from various splits, EPs, and the like. Seven songs, and just under two hours of music. Deftly picked acoustic guitars, swirling atmospherics, soaring electric solos, Chasney's haunted vocals, and too many other instruments and sounds for me to bother listing. Arguably Six Organs' most challenging and intensely psychedelic release.
