Amusement Parks On Fire - Out of the Angeles (2006)
Gorgeous, melancholic, but generally uptempo shoegaze five-piece from dreary ol' England. Out of the Angeles is their second album, and I love it. Angelic male-female vox, dreamy guitars, and soaring melodic leads. It's a dynamic record, and some its most effective moments come when they give the drummer (and distortion) a rest, as heard on the chiming, string-laden "At Last the Night".
Track listing:
1. Out of the Angeles
2. A Star Is Born
3. At Last the Night
4. In Flight
5. To the Shade
6. So Mote It Be
7. Blackout
8. Await Lightning
9. No Light No Sound
10. Cut to Future Shock
Show the last one through
And pray to keep your first son
