Paul Schütze - Deus Ex Machina (1989)

Masterful debut full-length from Australian composer Paul Schütze. Dark, drifting synths enveloping abstract jazz fusion and clattering percussion, with fragmented voices periodically flashing into earshot. The kind of stuff that sounds best when it's late and you're really, really... sleepy.

Track listing:
1. Deus Ex Machina - The Soundtrack (Panic Heat Vengeance)

Topology of a phantom city

You'll also wanna hear:
Piquet -
The Faulty Caress (1996)
Charles Bobuck -
Chuck's Ghost Music (2011)
