Justin Warfield - My Field Trip to Planet 9 (1993)

90s-alt-flavored hip-hop produced in part by Prince Paul. Same school of sound as the Beastie Boys, in that it's more about the fun, loose, and stoned vibe than bars. Dude rolls his Rs more than any other MC I've heard. Been listening to this CD for years, and just now found out that Warfield is in that band She Wants Revenge, who I've never had any interest in checking out -- anyone out there care to change my mind?

Track listing:
1. Tequila Flats
2. Introduction by Ellis Dee
3. Dip Dip Divin'
4. K Sera Sera
5. Fisherman's Grotto
6. Live from the Opium Den
7. Glass Tangerine
8. Guavafish Centipede (Aquatic Meditations)
9. Teenage Caligula

12. Pick It Up Y'all
13. B-Boys on Acid
14. Stormclouds Left of Heaven

Smoother than a Russian quaalude

  1. Justin Warfield was also rapping on Placebo's Spite & Malice (studio version and live). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1UvTEui0dY

He aso did "Headlights" for the SOA soundtrack which was pretty cool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQ_U6ib4U4k

I liked She Wants Revenge. Not perfect, not original, but some good stuff in there.

as to She Wants Revenge - they are like a 80s tribute band with all original tracks. The sound is not original but the sentiments and volume are great stuff that comes from angst.
