Gimmik - ?!Load-Error E.P. (1997)

First record by Gimmik, a project of Toytronic label founder Martin Haidinger. Distorted breakbeats and toy sound effects juxtaposed against texturally rich, often quite lovely synths, all tied up with a glitchy bow.

Track listing:
1. Little Computer People
2. Sister Moon
3. Soft Drink
4. Floppy Disk
5. Thing on a Spring
6. Floppy Disk (Load Error Mix)

  4. This is one of those posts where even though I've owned it since it came out I feel compelled to comment ;) Toytronic, esp in the early 2000's was just bliss. Like Rephlex or Merck Records levels of joy. It's difficult to pick a top release but if I had to it would be Abfahrt Hinwil's "Links Berge Rechts Seen"
which is in my top 20 all time fav electronic albums. Toytronic's founder Martin Haidinger is one half of duo as you likely already know. Being that Gimmik's (Haidinger) albums are all superb it's no surprise that a collaborative album would also be! -If you don't have the Abfahrt Hinwil I can upload it for ya - got it on a ext drive, I need to get it back on my mac anyhow
