Claude Léveillée - Black Sun (1978)

Tasty instrumental prog, with just a touch of fusion, from this French-Canadian artist. Claude Léveillée, who passed in 2011, appears to have consistently released albums from 1962 through the late 90s, but this is the only one I've heard.

Track listing:
1. Nuit Lunaire
2. Requiem Pour Un Astronaute
3. Soleil Noir
4. Adagio Pour Un Poête
5. Les Plaines De Feu
6. Fleur De Lit
7. Le "Blue Bar..."
8. Le "Blue Bar..." (Parte Deux)
9. La Chasse
10. Romance De Garnison
11. Dernier Bal
12. Les Géographes
13. Un Homme Dans La Nuit

Plains of fire

More spaced-out French-Canadian sounds:
