Hypnotic, lo-fi psych. Like eating a few tabs of acid before trudging slowly through a desert that's melting into dazzling pools of pure, sparkling color. Back when music blogs were relevant, nerds like me were going fuckin' nuts for this band.
Track listing;
1. The Weight
2. No More Women
3. Oh Woe
4. Chains
Bind the blistered feet

Yeah, I did too. I also loved and still do, Topaz Rags. Oh and thank you for all your shares.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't yet, you gotta listen to Peyote Road (also by these peeps, who also are in Best Coast lol) it was something I randomly found for cheap at a record store and is now one of my go-tos for long droney metal suites.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I haven't listened to Pocahaunted in eons. This is definitely their best effort by far. Love how the title track is a meditation on Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain"!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteBack when old America names were in vogue, the first time I heard the name "Pocahaunted" I couldn't decide whether to roll my eyes or laugh. It was both.
