Xasthur - All Reflections Drained (2009)

Related:
Mord - Imperium Magnum Infernalis (2006)

Just a reminder that Xasthur has made some of the most fucked-up, depressing, claustrophobic, anxiety-ridden music, black metal or otherwise, ever produced by humans. REALLY wish this dude would put down the acoustic guitar and get back at it.

Track listing:
1. Dirge Forsaken
2. Maze of Oppression
3. Achieve Emptiness Part II
4. Masquerade of Incisions
5. Damage Your Soul
6. Inner Sanctum Surveillance
7. Obfuscated in Oblivion
8. All Reflections Drained

To kill the pain, cut twice as deep

Also listen to:
Endless Dismal Moan -
Curse of Underground (2010)
Moon -
Clavicula Nox (2014)

  1. i totally agree, there is not much out there that can be compared to xasthur. but i'm actually happy for him that he seems to be a... well, healthy person? he found people he can make music with. also, i understand that after years of making black metal, it just gets boring and also ridiculous. all the seriousness, the limitations, the corpse paints, the narrow minded fans.
i'm really thrilled to see where scott conner is going to take his music.

    1. I mean, I'm all for growing as an artist for sure, and ultimately I want the man to be happy. It's just that I found his black metal era much, much more compelling than the acoustic trip he's been on for the past 3-4 years.
