Ramsey Lewis - Sun Goddess (1974)
Smooth, loose jazz-funk/fusion gold from pianist Ramsey Lewis. With its funky, synth-y sound, Sun Goddess represented somewhat of an artistic leap for Lewis, who'd been releasing competent but unremarkable bop since the mid-50s, and the risk paid off -- it's one of his best albums, and kicked off a string of relatively commercially successful records.
