Moon Far Away - Sator (2000)

Russia's Moon Far Away exist in that dramatic, ethereal middle ground between neofolk and darkwave. The percussion, bells, and folk-y melodies pull in one direction, while the conspicuously synthetic keyboard tones and moody vocals pull in the other. They were introduced to me as a neofolk band, and hearing them through that filter made it hard for me to get into them, but if you meet them on their own terms, they might pull you into their darkly enchanting little world.

Track listing:
1. Ici-Haut/Hevelius
2. To the Heaven Rhuanda
3. Hymn
4. A Scorpion Domain
5. Dezember de Zeiten
6. Architects of Immorality
7. Deirdre - Isolda - Savitri
8. "Man Is a Birdstower...."
9. Schlaflied
10. Elias Arista
