Gary Burton - The Time Machine (1966)
Previously on OPIUM HUM:
The Gary Burton Quintet with Eberhard Weber - Ring (1974)
Stellar post-bop led by vibraphonist Gary Burton. Evocative, late-night slow-burners, whimsical song fragments, calypso-flavored pieces, high-energy workouts, and one of the very few worthwhile Beatles covers. So stoked to have finally tracked this one down.
Track listing:
1. The Sunset Bell
2. Six-Nix, Quix, Flix
3. Interim I
4. Chega de Saudade
5. Childhood
6. Deluge
7. Norwegian Wood
8. Interim II

Thanks for this one! Lovely pick
ReplyDeleteI can't blame anybody for losing yet another version of My Funny Valentine, but I'd still like to have the complete album... but thanks so far for this, I gave up trying to find this years ago...
ReplyDeleteDamn, I didn't realize I was missing a track, my bad
DeleteBoy, of course I now discovered that the album has been added to Spotify... you may as well leave my comments unpublished :)
ReplyDelete'Ring' I have, but somehow this passed me by; many thanks...
