Synth-y goth-rock for heartbroken ghouls that's almost punk in its theatrical angst and lyrical bluntness. Makes me want to grab my Discman and pack of Camel Lights and go cry in a graveyard.

Thank you for this! Can't wait to finally give it a listen.
ReplyDeletethis isn't half bad...
ReplyDeleteI have never thought to make a request, but this post inspired me. have recently been pulling together a 'goth/darkwave' playlist for a friend... focusing on more obscure stuff and finding myself searching in vain for a rip of releases by Detroit's Gargoyle Sox... whose output is far superior to their name... perchance a man of your refined tase and extensive library might be able to help
I hadn't heard of them but tracked down their discography on the P2P filesharing service that rhymes with "GoalPeek" and it sounds pretty good so far!

thank you, sir! sometimes you need to call in an expert.
Deletenothing groundbreaking, but they were a fun band, energetic live show, and really nice guys.
OK, to be fair upon hearing these again after 35+ years... more schlocky than I remembered. But they briefly and unashamedly filled their role as the Great Lakes Region's uninspired answer to the Sisters of Mercy. And 'Serpent Circle' is going on that playlist!
DeleteKind of late to the party, but this is really great stuff. I'd forgotten that "The Love" was included on that Killed By Deathrock comp Sacred Bones put out a while back. Definitely one of the highlight tracks.
